TIDE LINES NEW ALBUM ‘GLASGOW LOVE STORY’ IS OUT NOW

Zohaib 7 months ago

Tide Lines’ ascent continues today, with their highly anticipated fourth album ‘Glasgow Love Story’ released via their own Tide Lines Music label. The album includes the recent singles ‘Better Days’ and ‘Homeward Bound.’, double A-side single ‘By The Quayside’ / ‘Leaving Town,’ and ‘Cherry Blossom Sunset.’ Listen HERE.

‘Glasgow Love Story’ is a deeply personal tribute to the city that has shaped the band’s journey – capturing its people, places, and spirit through evocative storytelling and anthemic indie-folk melodies. Glasgow is very close to the band’s heart. Glasgow has remained a central influence in the Tide Lines story, from their first casual meet-up in a West End bar in 2016 to subsequent rehearsals in a Finnieston studio to their recent induction into the Barrowland Hall of Fame. Earlier this week, Tide Lines brought Glasgow subways to a standstill when they spontaneously busked songs from the new album.

Vocalist/guitarist Robert Robertson says, “We’re delighted to be releasing our fourth album, ‘Glasgow Love Story.’ We started the band in Glasgow back in 2016, and, since then, this amazing city has constantly influenced our music and our lives – not to mention playing host to some of our favourite ever gigs. So I guess it was only a matter of time before our adopted hometown inspired a Tide Lines album!”

Tide Lines recently announced their autumn UK headline tour, which includes their biggest London show to date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and concludes with a trio of gigs across Scotland at EdinburghStirling, and Dundee.  Before this tour, the band prepared for a variety of high-profile moments. First up is the biggest headline show of their career to date, a 5000-capacity outdoor event at Glasgow’s Rouken Glen Park on June 6th, a special opening concert for this year’s The Reeling festival. They will also headline the Thursday night at the HebCelt festival, play a free show at Aberdeen’s Quayside Concerts on July 20th with guest Calum Bowie as part of The Tall Ships Race festivities, and are also confirmed for the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. Tickets for the tour are on general sale HERE.

Vocalist/guitarist Robert Robertson says, “We can’t wait to get back out on the road for a run of shows that will include some of the songs from the new album. Seeing our fans’ reaction to the singles on social media has been amazing, but nothing beats playing live and hearing people sing along! There are a lot of new venues for us on this tour, which is exciting. First up, our adopted home city of Glasgow (which inspired the album) and our biggest-ever headline show in Rouken Glen Park!”

‘Glasgow Love Story’ follows the breakthrough success of 2023’s ‘An Ocean Full of Islands,’ which reached #13 in the UK#1 in Scotland and #2 on the Independent Albums chart. Boosted by extensive Radio 2 support, their shows in support of the record included three consecutive sold-out nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom. Always a massive draw in the live arena, the band also recently performed in front of 67,000 people as they inspired Scotland to a triumphant Six Nations win over Wales at Murrayfield Stadium.

Formats include signed black vinyl, signed transparent vinyl, signed CD, and a yellow cassette. A limited edition brilliant format offers a digital album download via a souvenir lanyard and will provide additional audio and visual content throughout the campaign. Listen/Buy HERE.

In addition, Tide Lines will also play five special intimate ‘Glasgow Love Story’ album launch shows across Scotland from May 9th-13th, all of which rapidly sold out.
