Today, the Texas-based, alternative metal band Taken By Tides released their highly-anticipated single, “Ghost Vibrations.” The track is available to stream now, along with the accompanying music video.
“Ghost Vibrations” explores the lull and frustration lead singer Omar Martinez experienced
over the last few years as he waited for calls and messages that could open new doors.
The term “ghost vibration” refers to the sensation of thinking your phone vibrates, only to realize it hasn’t. It’s a metaphor for that feeling of anticipation mixed with disappointment—something so many people can relate to.
“This new song takes the desperation I’ve been feeling and transforms it into something greater, tapping in to what it felt like growing up,” shares frontman Omar Martinez. “It’s about gaining back the naivety, fearlessness, and blind confidence that I once had as a teenager.”
This track was produced in-studio by the band (Omar Martinez, Guillermo Rodriguez, Jack Strunk, Jayden Castillon) and co-written with Zachary Williamson of Picturesque. “Ghost Vibrations” is released just after the band put out the powerful 4-song EP It Ends With You in 2024.
With every new release, the band pushes boundaries sonically and lyrically. To stay up to date on all things Taken By Tides, please visit www.takenbytidesband.com.
