Jurassic Park: Rebirth Trailer Sees The Franchise Back Into Adventurous Mode

Welcome back to Jurassic Park!  

While it made some really big bucks at the box office, unfortunately, the last time we saw our favorite Dinos along with the original team and the new members, what could/should have been the greatest installment in the franchise ended up on a very disappointing note—and personally, it was one of the worst movie experiences I ever had in my life. Plus, there was no true world dominion, so how’s that for false advertising?!

However, it appears that Universal has taken a strategic approach, as the first full trailer (no teaser) for Jurassic Park: Rebirth shows the series returning to its adventure roots after veering more toward action, “horror,” and… clones.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, who has had some prior experience with dinos and monsters after breaking through with his movie titled, well, Monster, followed by the first entry in the MonsterVerse with Godzilla. Original Jurassic Park and its sequel screenwriter, David Koepp, also returns and that will explain why there’s a greater sense of adventure and a return to form from a narrative perspective with some echoing to The Lost World, which I wasn’t as bothered by, but it does instill some worries in audiences. Let’s hope none of the kids showcase their gymnastics skills. The film also looks stunning; the others don’t look that bad, but it has a more cinematic quality to it.

The cast looks to be having a lot of fun as well, namely Mahershala Ali. Scarlett is looking really badass. Bailey seems like he may be a good comic relief; hopefully, they avoid turning him into an annoying sidekick.

What’s Jurassic Park: Rebirth all about?

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), the planet’s environment has shown itself to be mainly inhospitable to dinosaurs. The survivors now live in remote tropical regions with conditions similar to those in which they were formerly abundant. Zora Bennett, a covert operative, is hired to work with paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis and team leader Duncan Kincaid on a top-secret mission. Their goal is to locate the three largest creatures within the tropics and acquire their DNA, which contains the key to a drug that will miraculously save human lives.

The team crosses paths with a civilian family whose boating adventure was overturned by an attack of roving aquatic dinosaurs, leaving them all stranded on an island. Once the site of Jurassic Park’s research laboratory, the group discovers that the island is home to failed, mutated dinosaurs which have thrived there for decades.
