On Thursday, Juan Wauters returns with the second single to be released from the forthcoming album MVD LUV, the charming “Dime Amiga,” alongside the song’s incredible music video, starring his daughter.
It begins with Juan walking into a donut shop to buy himself and his daughter a sweet treat to enjoy, but when it comes time to pony up, he realizes he can’t afford it. He decides that in order to earn the rest of the money he needs, he’ll busk. While Wauters performs on a subway platform, his daughter wanders off, embarking on a “Baby’s Day Out” style adventure through New York City, eventually discovering an envelope filled with cash and saving the day. Written and directed by Lucía Garibaldi, Fatos Marishta, Eric McLeland, Matthew Volz and Juan Wauters, camera by Marishta and edited by Garibaldi. Special thanks to Demetri and the staff at Peter Pan Donuts in Brooklyn, NY.
A tender moment of friendship and care, “Dime Amiga” finds Juan Wauters offering a shoulder to lean on. Set to a vibrant, swaying rhythm, the song unfolds like a conversation with a trusted confidant — one who knows when to speak and when to simply listen. With lyrics in Spanish, Wauters taps into the quiet power of presence, reminding us how healing it can be to ask, “How are you? Why are you crying?” Rooted in the intimacy of everyday connection, it’s a beautiful example of the heart and humanity that run through MVD LUV.
