Back with a bright, bold, and brilliant anthem for 2025, three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated and BRIT Award-winning multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist James Bay shares a brand-new single entitled “Sunshine In The Room” featuring Jon Batiste available now. It stands out as his very first collaboration with 5x-GRAMMY® Award winner, EMMY® Award winner, and Academy® Award winner Batiste. Listen HERE.
Regarding the song, Bay said, “Working with Jon Batiste for ‘Sunshine In The Room’ is an experience I will never forget. He literally burst into the studio like a ray of sunshine and brought so much joy to the sound of the record and the work. He’s a total inspiration, and I hope we can work together again. The song is about having someone in your life who truly lights up the room as soon as they walk in.”
Jon Batiste added, “James is such a beautiful soul and a great musician. Grateful to make a new friend and create music together. Really excited for the world to hear this song; it’s impossible not to love the vibes on this one!”
Bottling this light, the track’s slick guitar struts through a swinging piano melody anchored to a head-nodding beat. The back-and-forth between Bay and Batiste radiates unfiltered joy over horns and handclaps. It culminates on a soaring refrain, “You burn so bright. You’re like sunshine in the room.” “Sunshine In The Room” is ultimately heartfelt, hypnotic, and heavenly!
This weekend, James kicks off the UK leg of the “Up All Night” tour with sold-out dates across major cities, including Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham, culminating in his biggest-ever show at London’s Wembley OVO Arena on 13th February. The global tour began earlier this year, taking in sold-out shows across Europe, ahead of dates in North America, Australia and South Africa in spring 2025. All dates here
The tour notably shares its moniker with James’s fan-favorite 2024 single, “Up All Night” with The Lumineers and Noah Kahan. The single is Bay’s fifth biggest UK airplay record of his career, catapulting to #1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in the US and his first-ever radio #1 in the States.
The “Up All Night” Tour runs in support of Bay’s acclaimed fourth full-length album, Changes All The Time, scoring him his fourth consecutive Top 5 album in the UK Official Albums Chart; it has already eclipsed 60 million global streams and garnered widespread critical acclaim.
The new album and tour further prove James Bay has cemented himself as a career artist, continually reaching new heights following the release of his definitive breakthrough smash “Let It Go,” which landed over a decade ago in 2014. A classic hit, “Let It Go,” scored a top 10 UK hit and cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, Top 3, accumulating over 3 billion streams and claiming a spot among Spotify’s prestigious “Billions Club” and 6x-platinum status. James Bay’s total career streams are now nearly 9 billion.
Last year, Bay opened up for Bruce Springsteen at London’s BST Hyde Park and joined his friends The Lumineers and Noah Kahan on tour.
