“No matter how paranoid you are, you’re not paranoid enough.”
Back in the summer of 1985 a the none-too tender age of twelve, I became obsessed with all-things having to deal with the UFO phenomenon. Looking back at that time, I realize now that I was at the perfect age to fall under the mesmerizing and kooky otherworldly spell of aliens from outer-space, Men in Black (long before the comic book or the movie of the same name was even a glimmer in the pop culture eye), bizarre crafts and the cryptoid-like creatures which were inevitably reported on either shortly before or shortly after a UFO sighting. Yep, I imbibed it all, Dear and Constant reader, with the absolute faith and conviction of a junior card-carrying True Believer. That initial flush of discovery of these unexplained and eerie sightings only hastened when, later that summer, I witnessed what I took to be an actual UFO streaking through the nighttime Rome, New York sky. Fast-forward lo these many moons later and, though I’m no longer that easily excitable towheaded kid who believed almost anything and everything at the time that I had read and heard about the phenomenon, I still want to believe. And isn’t that half the battle, not just with weird lights in the sky or bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster, but with life in general?
From our ‘Is it real, or is it Memorex’ pals over atThe Hollywood Reporter comes the news about an eagerly-anticipated UFO documentary that I just know my twelve-year-old self would be all over. Appropriately enough, it arrives with a title which could serve as a road sign for our own times, The Age of Disclosure.
Meant to be the most thorough and well-researched documentary to ever hit the scene about the UFO phenomenon (and that’s saying a lot; there’s about a kajillion docs on mysterious flying discs and their otherworldly occupants littering the pop culture landscape), The Age of Disclosure was directed by Dan Farah and showcases a staggering 34 present-day and past senior members of the United States government, intelligence agencies and the military all confirming what many folks out there had already concluded long ago: We are not alone.
Wanna check out the trailer for this potentially game-changing documentary? Of course you do and, unlike the governments of the world who would rather you forget the whole thing, we’re going to let you check it out right here!
The Age of Disclosure attempts to make the case that, for at least the past 80-years, a massive cover-up has been in effect among some of the bigger nations to reverse engineer retrieved UFO technology from crashed alien discs.
According to the official logline for the new doc, “The film was granted unprecedented access and support from senior members of the U.S. government, military and intelligence community. Everyone interviewed in the film has direct knowledge of UAP as a result of their work for the U.S. Government. The film exposes the profound impact the situation has on the future of humanity, while providing a look behind the scenes with those at the forefront of the bipartisan disclosure effort.”
Intrigued? The Age of Disclosure is set to make an auspicious debut at no less of a venue than this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas this March. Stay tuned to Vents for more information on an official release date. In the meantime, keep watching the skies!
